Pour tous les amis qui ne connaissent pas encore l’histoire de notre association, nous avons pensé qu’il leur serait agréable de faire avec nous le chemin que nous avons parcouru depuis 1984, date de la création de notre comité de l’Ecole du Chat.
1986
Notre grande préoccupation était déjà l’immense détresse féline qui nous apparaissait au fur et à mesure de nos sauvetages sur le terrain. Nous étions à cette époque infiniment démunis… Nous manquions de tout : espace infirmerie, boxes de convalescence, emplacement, accueil, etc… Nous fonctionnions alors avec un système d’infirmerie ambulante tout à fait insuffisant.
Cette année là, pour la première fois, nous avons prononcé le nom « Point de Chute ». C’était irréaliste. RIEN, absolument RIEN ne nous permettait de faire un tel projet. Pourtant, nous nous sommes cramponnés à cette idée tout à fait utopique puis devenue réalité.
1988
La solution d’hébergement que nous avions trouvée est à saturation et notre idée de « Point de Chute » se confirme impérativement (Maison de retraite pour chats en difficulté, infirmerie).
Notre travail sur le terrain prend de l’ampleur, nos stérilisations se multiplient. Nous aidons activement un nombre appréciable de protecteurs.
1989
Notre Comité s’élargit. Nous avons des contacts sur le plan national.
1991
Nous faisons le point sur l’ensemble de notre action qui est devenue très importante au cours de toutes ces années. Nous avons développé certaines activités : stérilisations, parrainages. Nous continuons d’assurer l’éducation et la formation de protecteurs toujours plus nombreux. Tous ces secteurs de notre activité sont en place et ne demandent qu’à s’épanouir, reste notre « Point de Chute » à acquérir pour une meilleure réalisation de nos objectifs.
En regardant en arrière, nous commençons à être fiers des résultats obtenus et nous partageons cet enthousiasme avec tous nos adhérents qui nous ont fait confiance et nous ont soutenus fidèlement durant toutes ces années.
1992
Notre comité devient ASSOCIATION.
1992 a été l’année des grandes décisions, nous sommes en train de franchir une étape en entrant en possession de notre « Point de Chute ».
1993
L’avenir de notre association dépend du BON TRAVAIL de mise en route de notre activité au Point de Chute. Ce travail représente un effort considérable car il doit avoir pour résultat la construction de bases solides sur lesquelles reposera toute notre action future. Aussi est il indispensable de mettre en place toutes les structures dont nous avons besoin.
Une fois cette tâche achevée, nous fonctionnerons d’une manière plus efficace et nous pourrons offrir à notre œuvre d’autres possibilités pour réaliser les projets qui nous tiennent à cœur. Sans outil de travail bien adapté, notre action ne peut se développer.
Notre « Point de Chute », bien équipé, représentera de nouveaux espoirs pour venir en aide à nos petits félins.
2009
L’association rejoint la Confédération Nationale de Défense de l’Animal, laquelle regroupe 260 associations indépendantes réparties sur l’ensemble du territoire national, constituant ainsi le plus grand réseau français de protection des animaux.
Depuis
Nous n’avons eu de cesse d’agrandir (création des chatteries Mimosa, Othello, Chipie, Paddy, Quarantaine, extension de l’espace FIV) et d’améliorer l’agencement (rénovation de l’infirmerie, construction de la véranda) de notre « Point de Chute ».
